Fostering was my lightbulb moment
After a long career in IT, as a consultant and trainer, I longed for something more fulfilling and rewarding, something that would be of value...
I talked with friends to see what my options were to allow me to work with children and young people, one friend who works for a fostering agency as a senior social worker asked if I had thought about becoming a foster carer. This was the light bulb moment! This answered most of the questions I was asking myself.

15 - 20 March 2021 was Kinship Care Week. Kinship Care Week aims to increase understanding and recognition of the role of kinship carers and the challenges they often face, but importantly, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate kinship carers for the incredible role they play in raising children.
